The Distillation Column Simulator (SKU JA-CELE-9503) is a transparent column model for studying tray hydraulics without heating or chemicals. A clear acrylic column 600 mm in diameter holds 2 sieve trays and a bubble cap tray, with three pressure tappings read on 2 differential manometers. Liquid is pumped from a 100 litre feeding tank by a centrifugal pump and gas is supplied by a centrifugal fan, so students can watch the flow on each tray. It is supplied by JaincoLab for chemical engineering unit operations laboratories.
